Default TC-3 gearing the P2K2 motor

I have a Associated TC-3 touring car and a Trinity P2K2 stock motor , how do I gear this motor with a 72 tooth 48p spur gear ? Im running on a Med/large asphalt track . any help would be greatly appreciated.

try between 26 and 28. that should give a nice starting place.

And when in doubt, always start with a small pinion. Better to have a slow car than a burnt motor on the first run of the day.

At present I'm running 100/35, 64 pitch, that works out to 7.14. 72/25, 48 pitch, which works out to 7.20.

25 sounds about right. We geared our GM3 at 72/24 to start and it was right on.

I ran a pretty large track last year, and on a P2K I ran 30/72. I ran 28/72 on the same track with a GM3. I'd start with about a 26-27 and go from there.
