Default 10.5 motor selection

I need to choose a motor for a 4wd buggy and haven't had good luck with brushless in the past. Is there one motor that stands out or any that I should avoid. I don't need the most power but would like one that will last a while and be easy on the speed control.

LRP, Speed Passion, Trinity Duo are all good. It think a 10.5 might be a bit soft though. 5.5s to 7.5s seem to work well. I've been running a trinity duo 5.5 but plan to change to a 6.5... The 6.5 should be a bit smoother and easier to drive.

Do they plan to make a 10.5? They only have 3.5 through 8.5 on their website.

The Tekin motors are very good too with adjustable timing and slightly lighter weight.

I have 2 10.5 Novak motors that I have ran for almost 2 years with no problems. Novak motors are the most popular for the spec 10.5 class at my track

+1 on the Novak, great manufacturer with excellent customer service should you need it. Performance-wise, I've been very happy with my 6.5 in my T4 and my 5.5 in my B44 but I've never run a 10.5. There are some guys at my track that are running the 10.5 Novak and they seem to be pleased with theirs as well.
