I'd go with a Castle Creations 4600kv motor with sidewinder ESC
I personally use a 5700kv in my 2wd buggy and it is extremely crazzy
fast The castle creations allows you to have a break and thorttle curve and also lets you tweak many other asspects such as cut off to w/e voltage you want, and the amount of brake and drag brake dialed and many other key features. It is fairly priced around $149 @ amainhobbies (my sponsor )
Thats with the ESC and the motor. Castle has been around for many years esp in the airplane field. It is the most cost effective suggestion for you to use.

Thanks for all the advice guys,
It has made this decision easier and harder haha. I race, not bash, I push it 100% when I race also, unless I'm burnt out.
