It's pretty much a great quality engine for a great price.

BTW No, they are not. They are completely different. The Grenade pipe is a pretty big pipe. People think the JP-4 pipe is big but the Grenade is a little bigger. Sort of reminds me of a THS pipe the way the stinger is made with the brace.

Ok, I just had to order one.
Now, any advice on what pipe to use on this eco-racer?
In my collection I have, GRP 053, JP2, JP4 and maybe a JP3 stuffed someplace.
I don't think I'm going to buy a pipe just for this engine (then it wount be an eco-racer anymore )

since it's based on the Go 5 Port I would guess the Dynamite 086 or the Go 0801.

The 053 and JP3 you have will work well with it.
Try them all though and give feedback.

4 sure.
I have some engines to wear out first, I'm saving the new engine till the temp's up and its snow free.
Still haven't found my JP3, so im testing the JP2 and The GRP 2053 FLS first.

We just recently broke the 50 sold in the U.S. mark. It has been a struggle combatting the name "grenade" because of what it means to the average motor guy. But I can honestly say out of the 50, we had 1 bearing failure with a motor that was run for a race without an air filter.

It appears that the gamble paid off by naming it the grenade because people are starting to ask about it and for it. It is a name that cannot be forgotten.....and the name is definitely a one word oxymoron.

another happy outing with the unknown motor

I can safely say that this motor can hang other well known brands where most couldn't make this tripple w/o a good runway; the Grenade could easily laugh in it's face and clear it with ease.

A little late in this one, but just have 2 thing to said about the engine...

1. Extremelly realiable... Its the best engine I ever had in terms of reliability.!! Never stops, crazy top speed, low on the torque section, but I use a Dynamite HiTorque Pipe to compensate (i Think its the 007)

2. Excellent fuel milage, in buggy (Team Magic B8RS with 007 pipe) runs abut 11 mins. In my truggy (Mbx5T with JP3) runs about 15 min.

Really a good reliable engine, low price, nice pinch...likes the hot (always about 260-280), and never dies.
Plug: Odonnel Turbo 77T (Hot), some times 97T (Medium), but the hotter the better.!

Ive been using Vspecs, Trinity Drake edition,, Axe Rossi mamba, RB S Series, but really surprised me in a good way the quality of the MK2 Caster grenade!!

Over 5 gallons and the pinch still there.. a little hard when you break-in, but the pinch last forever.
----------------------
PICS... look over the rcuniverse thread, to see nice PICS i took of my 2 MK2 engines. (I cant post Pics here)
--------------------
PS. A really nice engine in the mid price... way better than "big brands". Never had a issue with the carb.. That thing hold on the tune forever. Just make adjustments in HSN 1hour mor or 1 hr less... that nice the engine is.

The name.. doesnt make it justice, but give it a try if you are looking for a nice 200 dll mill. Some pics I took from my 2 MK2 engines:
