Default Advice needed on TB01 car

Hi People

I have a Tb01, which I have ballraced + added a few hopups..king pins n stuff.

I got a Trinity Speed Gem 2 16turn Triple motor. At the moment I am running a 17T Pinion and 61T spur. What cogs can I put on for more top end?

According to the tamiya manual these are the possible combinations:
16, 17, 18, 19 pinions go with 61T Spur
19, 20, 21, 22 go with 58T
22, 23, 24, 25 go with 55T

I know the last line gives the most top end and shortest battery life etc, but can I use them without doing any damage to the car/motor etc?

And while we're at it! Are the Aluminium Steering and Alu. Shocks hopups worth it? My steering seems very sloppy at the moment, hope theses will help?

Thanks for you time!

The K

Have you acquired the Aluminum Motor mount? If u have that you can mix & match pinions with much more ease.... U will want to run a final drive ratio of around 7:1, and then gear up or down depending on the speed, runtime etc.

If u are keen to keep this car as your race car, yes by all means get the alum shocks & alum steering.

HTHs. My first ride was a tb01.

The TB01 is a heavy car so you want to reduce drivetrain weight at least. We've hopped up our TB01 with the following: ball diffs with lightweight gears, aluminum drive shaft, universals. We've also added adjustable tie rods and upper links, aluminum shocks.

The Alu motor mount is my next purchase, and then the Alu Shocks....the steering should be on its way soon.

I have the lightwieght ring gear and Alu Drive shaft...just need to find the time to install them!!

Sounds like I am getting the right bits?!!?!? Thanks!

Any suggestions on the gearing? Ta!
