i have some questions? i did some testing and racing the last 2 weeks and i am puzzled and looking for some ideas to try.
1. i have a rs in a vta that i run 1s and 17.5 with a novak booster. but my question is about the turbo. is i does not seem to rev alot more than with the turbo off both free wheel and on the track, so is there only a set amount of timing coming in or is it by voltage or ????
2. is about timing. Motor(built in) 15* mechanical 20* boost 20* how much is left in turbo?
3. another look at timing. Motor(bulit in) 15* mechanical 0* boost 0* how much can turbo go up?
4. drag brake is the last. my car was the test mull for 2 to 4 drives depending on the day there where comments on the drag brake changing but i was not changing it, the settings that where changing where boost, turbo and throttle profile??
next will be 1/12 when an rs getts back available.

Who was asleep? I must have missed algebra and geometry too.
Similar to above but with an explanation. Mooses way does work.
Its ((2*Pi)*radius) / (spur/pinion) = rollout
First you need the circumference of the circle, then the final gear ratio. Divide the first part by the second part and you get rollout.
An F1 foam tire can be 62mm in diameter.
The circumference of the tire is 2*3.14159*31 = 194.77mm
The gear ratio on the same car is 94/22= 4.27
The rollout is 194.77/4.27= 45.58mm

Ran my 1S lipo GenX car this past weekend for the first time. TP 1S lipo, 17.5 motor geared 50/76 w/42mm tires. Didn't have my TQ Booster yet, so I had to sport a receiver pack and CC BEC. Ran 0 timing on the motor, 15* timing advance and max turbo boost. Only two of us out of 6 cars were running 1S, other 4 were running round cells. My single fastest lay-it-down lap was 9.08. The fastest round cell car ran 8.89. I finished second in the main, behind the fast round cell car. Learned some interesting things about the RS on 1S. You have to have the red wire on the ESC connector plugged into the receiver, or the motor cogs horribly. Same if your receiver pack goes dead. I will say that you need the red wire in the plug even with a booster. No idea why, it shouldn't need it, but apparently, it does.

i "think" that with v200 (or v198 and up?) that you can now run the speedo switch on along with the booster/receiver pack energized, this is needed so that the voltage cutoff in the speedo for 1s operation can function. maybe an authority can chime in here.
i tend to only switch on the booster/plug in the receiver battery, i have been happily running with just the booster on, so haven't bothered with the speedo switch and voltage cutoff. i haven't felt the need, because with 13.5 1/12, an 8 minute race takes less than 2500mah in a 4000-5000mah battery.
for me, my tire grip (and mental strength) give out long before the battery cutoff is required!

my understanding from tekin is that the speedo wants to operate at the 4.8-6 volt level just like everything else on the receiver circuit.

Sounds like the way I'll be running mine in my CRC Gen X 10: V200 firmware, plugged in, all wires connected and ESC turned on. I'm getting the TQ booster also.

Are there any particular settings that I need to tweak to get the best out of 1s over a 2s setup.
I have a GT10 using a Novak Booster with Thunder Power 1s lipo's?
Do I have to set it to 1s lipo or just disable the voltage protector etc (I never run more than 5 mins)
Thanks

Does anyone have any settings (including changing or rollout) using the RS Pro instead of an LRP SPX etc?
Thanks

+1 I just put mine together tonight with the 13.5 1S with the TQ booster. I set it to 10* endbell, 20 boost, max turbo, drag brake to 20, cutoff to custom @ 3.00V. I put in my 21.5 2S gearing (100/35) on the 1s 13.5 for now, so rollout will be around 62mm. I could use a real starting rollout. I'm thinking I should go lighter still for a small carpet track.

SP 13.5 (same as a duo 13.5 with no timing on the motor)
20 timing
max turbo
.5 delay
76 mm rollout

Hi i was wondering if anyone here has tried running the RS Pro with a mod motor in 12th scale LiPo? Looks like you guys are mainly running spec motors.
We have an unusually large track where we are experimenting with 4.5s and 4600 NiMhs, but they are dumping. I suspect that moving to a 3.5 lipo aint gunna be fast enuff or make run time. Anyone got any feedback?
Thanks,
Martin

I have been running the RS with 13.5 in a IIc'ish sized layout (100x48?) with some success in 1 cell.
SP 13.5 (same as a duo 13.5 with no timing on the motor)
20 timing
max turbo
.5 delay
76 mm rollout

I watched one of our pros run a 3.5 in his Rev5 today on 1 cell. I think he was running something like a 100/21 on a 110x55 ft indoor carpet track. He wasn't racing though so I can't tell you if he would've made run time or not.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I've heard the losi micro-t lipo works fine but you have to remember to charge it between runs. It is 180mah 7.4 v. I haven't tried it my self yet.
