Rub it in with the tire truer man...

Perhaps InitialD (or the other knowlegable guys) can give us a little lesson in tyre sizes (split ratios etc) which I can put into the FAQ for future reference.
I have attached a spreadsheet I made for the 710 tire rollout. It's pretty easy to use. If you find that a certain diameter of say 64 mm works for your engine and gearing in terms of top speed and gearing for your track but sucks in terms of handling and that you need to go to 60 mm tire diameter for better handling, look at the rollout chart.

If you're using stock 17T/60T for 1st gear and 22T/56T for 2nd gear, then your 2nd gear tire rollout with 64 mm is 42.127 mm / engine rev. With 60 mm tires, you need to change your 2nd speed pinion and spur to 23T/55T to give you about the same rollout as before at 42.04 mm / engine rev. Then for 1st gear, back calculate about 5 or even 6 tooth down for the 1st gear depending on your engine. With the new 0.8 gearing module, it is possible to use a big jump in the 1st and 2nd gearing without bogging the engine down much when 2nd speed engages.

The 710 tank (with the bronze filter) never needs the external filter to run properly.
I was reffering to the external filter, I have been running an R12
and it had a similar filter to the 705 in it, I never ran a 705 and never ran a external filter with the R12

Thanks for the info. Then Serpent should already be shipping these revised tanks with the kit.

Where do we get these inserts from ID?

You think the new 710 tanks will be available as an option part? Will the old tank have more capacity than the new ones since there is an internal filter?

From what I read in the book, you have to intall inserts into the tank to make it legal so the tank must be oversize. Therefore it is not small

Over here the popular 2 bodies are the Alfa 156 2.1and the Stratus 2.1. I usually use a stratus but will try a alfa on my 710

I would not know or have not personally seen how these inserts look like. You should be looking at part number 801159.
