hi guys im having trouble choosing either the 415 and the evo 4 im more leaning towards the 415 as it seems like the car needs less hop ups out of the box. i plan to get the std 415 not the ms edition

i was hoping you guys could share your knowledge and point and the flaws of the 415 out of the box.

all replies appreciated

And too Arun and Tamiya driver, what sizes are you cutting you sheet? internal Diameter mainly. I've been looking at doing a similar thing with mine, but i notice the outdrives are slopped slightly, in exactly the place where I want to mount the sheets. how'd you get round this problem?

thanks in advance
Regards
Ed
Mine are attached to the outdrives. The shields slightly rub the pulley. The outside diameter is the same as the pulley, and the inside is a couple of millimeters or so smaller than the part of the outdrive it attaches to. I actually shaved a flat area (where TryHard referred to) to glue the shield to. Here's the pic again...

hmm, just been looking at some of te Kai chassis parts avaliable for the 415 again, and I've noticed something thats put me off them (baring the expense).. theres only one mounting hole for the steering servo! (at least on the flat bottom chassis anyway)

taken from rceasy.com
http://www.rceasy.com/images/news/kai/415fb06.jpg
It's daft, theres a variable slot hole near the centre line, but no outter hole, thats just rediculous.... I know you could use double sided tape, but i've never been comfortable with using servo tape for such an application (which is probably daft given it's name..)

Anyone used one of these chassis yet?

I did see a lwt chassis (with cutouts) that did have two mounting holes for the servo, but it was the LWT version, and I can't find out anymore information baring that on the RCeasy.com site.

Ed
Use the one mounting hole and some shoe goo and it will be fine.

I have the 104 tooth PRS gear on my car. I also have PRS pinions 18-37 because you never know when you'll need one.

Anyone interested in a MS with 4 racedays on it? Titanium screws, locked pulley, heatsink beam, delrin outdrives. All CF has been sanded and sealed beautifully, has a nice shine to it just like the carbon parts. This will be able to be shipped on Wednesday, I have to race Tuesday again. No impacts, never broken a part.

I have 2 more MS kits

Now that I know a lot about the 415 from testing, I just want to build up a new car to start running.

All local Tamiya cars are 415, running indoors on carpet with foam or rubbber.

do you mostly run the oneway, or a diff with rubber tires?

i ran the 415 most of this year, plus at TCS... lately, tho, i have had better success with the IV. thats why ill bring both!!!

Hey can anyone tell me if I can use diff rebuild kits from other cars. The Tamiya stuff is a little expensive compared to say a Yokomo or a HPI.
