I am a proud owner of a new Mantis TXS Truggie with the following upgrades

Answer-rc Clutch Shoes with 1.1mm spring in currently (black)
Acomms FM radio
Hi-Tech hi-torque Metal Gear Steering Servo
Billet Lower Arm Mounts Front / Rear

Considering:-

Carbon Servo Plate
Racing Billet Upper Shock mounts
Rear Drive shafts (to get rid of old dog bone style joint)
Proline Wheels / Crime Fighter tires

Any other tips for this car?? Basic Setups / Other upgrades i shoudl do to make this a good reliable car for general club racing etc..

As there is limited info that i have found for these truggies on the net and am the only one in my area to have one of these...

you picked an awesome ride, but its not that popular. I dont know why, but not too many people race Robotronics. You can be the expert! Try some different set-ups and post what works.

I don't know why it is not popular either. However, you can still get a baseline setup by talking to the others at your track.

First, what tires are the running.

Second, fluids both diff and shock. (as truggies are all different this will only be a starting point)

Third, practice. Nothing, and I mean nothing beats practice. The best setup by someone with no practice with go nowhere. A bad setup with someone with practice will probably fair well.

As you get better start changing this around. Move shock mounting points and see what it does. Change toe, caster camber etc. One change at a time. Make notes.

Will keep practicing with what i have, as i have been out of R/C racing for a while (used to race Nitro Boats)...

Just wasnt sure if there was anyone out there that has had a bit of experience with the Mantis..

The shop i bought it from has been an awesome help with it so far..

I had a Mantis and was great. If you are going to get wheels and tires, Make sure you get LPR wheels. Make the truggy handle awesome compared to the stock ones. Other than that I ran mine bone stock. Shocks are great and towers are nice and thick. If you are thinking or racing then get rid of the aluminum arms and put the stock ones back on. Also do yourself a favor and buy the CNC billet aluminum engine mount from Robitronics. The stock one LOOKS strong but is not. It is cast aluminum and are known to crack.

Will look into the parts you mentioned thanks.. The alloy parts i put in are the lower arm mounts (front and rear) as i got told the std cast items break, not the lower arms ...

I bought the Mantis truck and raced it all last year I liked 7000wt front diff 10000wt center and 3000-5000wt rear depending on track conditions. I also ran 35 wt losi in shocks with the blue springs and truck handled very well and was competative at all the races I attended. also the comment about the motor mount I broke two of the of the cheap mounts. hope you find this usefull.
