YOU WISH!! and so do I. Anyone know of a conversion chart that will show one brand of plug that will cross reference to the same plug in a different manufacturer's brand? Like say you have a RB Concepts #6 and you want to buy an O.S. plug that will work in place of it. How the heck do I know which one will work? (and no... I dont want you to tell me get an O.S.#8 or whatever) I think this would be VERY helpful to me and alot other guys. Dont you?

I looked everywhere and posted to a few forums a couple months ago, as did another guy about a month ago.... the general concensus was NO. I could not believe anyone had not done it... especially in the USA where it is easier to find one of everything.... our LHS's are a lot smaller here.

On one occassion I offered to do up a chart but I need one of every plug from the most common 6 or 7 brands but nobody would take me up on the offer.

Anyone?

Yeah neither are much help. Why I asked the same question as you was because I live in a remote area and sometimes can't get what I need. I could not believe that if I used a RB #6 or OS P4 or whatever that I could not just look up what other brand and model was really close.... close enough that I'd not need to retune much and I could be assured it would run well. I can't try lots of different ones as I have to mail order (LHS 200mi away).

I repeat my offer.... I am more than happy to measure all the plugs if somebody will send me one of each... I'll even return them (heated up on a battery but unused!!)
C'mon glowplug distributor ppl you have nothing to lose!

is interesting. dont know how much it matters, and just going all turbo, like with reg plugs i kept 1 plug for all engines. used to be mc59 in everything. now turbo im using different in all engines but trying to stick w/1 kind for each engine. i know os turbo plugs wont seal grp engines. rb turbo #6 at amain $11.99. at carolinarc $7.99, 3-7 day usps 2 plugs=$18 shipped&you will get them in less than 4 days

It appears that the descriptions of heat range are the manufacturers or are not measured.
I doubt that you could follow down the "medium" column or the "hot" column and all the plugs in that column would be the same.... there would be a lot of variation.

Still appears to me that nobody has made a proper chart

Agreed. It appears the manufacturers arbitrarily determined what "cold" means without referencing it to any particular standard. The best determination across manufacturer's offerings is trial and error. This same lack of standardized reference is found in the shock and diff oils as well.
