RS12T5S1 vs NSR12S5

My comments on the new NSR12:
Quality wise, there were a couple of dink and scratched on the carb as compared to my RS12. Seem like the items are maybe chuck into a pool of carbs that cause the dinks and scratches, no big deal but my RS12 is clean of such thing. No big deal though. The most noticable quality difference is when I tried to move the throttle but the LSN is not align properly to enter the spary bar. Again my RS12 never had such an issue. I had to take the car apart to redo the LSN alignment and after several tried, it move in and our perfectly. The other parts of the engine is assemble well. I particularly like the laser marking of the NSR12!.
Part comparison.
After removing and comparing the parts with RS12 I notice the major difference is the crankshaft(of course!), carb and piston. The sleeve is exactly the same as the RS12. What make is faster and better then? I examined the carb careful and notice the the main difference other than the carb restrictor is the LSN needle, The RS needle is less tapered as compared to NSR12. The RS needle is thicker at the base and gradually becomes smaller at the end that goes in the spray bar. NSR12 LSN needle is more angled esp. at the tip. The tip is kinda sharp design and is thicker nearer to the base. I guess this contributes to the increase in low end torque production and quicker response.
The other noticable difference is the piston. The RS12 has 2 oil groove while the NSR has 1. Even the construction looks different. I am not a Metallurgist so I cant tell what exactly is that material. I guess this might make a difference but not much in terms of performance. 1 oil ring may reduce the drag in the chamber.
Anyone have any comments on the NSR?

Glad it worked well for you. So the question now is when it it going to be run in or which car is this engine going to find home...

Did you check the dimensions of the sleeve ports to see if there is any difference? Any difference on the exhaust port height? What about the crankshaft intake window? The opening width different? The most ideal it to put both of these engines on a degree turning wheel to locate the differences in their opening, exhaust, induction etc.
