TIP
If u have some trininty nitro blast fire the motor up and try and get it to idle spray the nitro blast at the back of the flywheel if the motor dies as soon as u spray it u have bad engine bearings hope this helps

You did add a shim before using 30% right? The head is shimmed for 15-25% nitro only, if you go up to 30 you need to add 1 .01 shim. If that's not it, check the fuel lines, check the carb seal, check the glow plug, check the gas tank, check your tune. you can get Lean bog, or rich bog. go back to factory settings and start over with your race tune if your not sure

Bad pipe gaskets can cause severe tuning issues. I also bend my manifolds with a torch & vice due to piccos need to point the exaust port down wich destroys gaskets. Never understood their reason for that design.

use the proper OFNA gasket and you'll never have a problem again....ive had the same one on for over a year almost.

I would go with the .21 as it has more than enough power for any buggy/truggy out there.
I just got rid of my last jpx .28 recently and while it was a good engine it was WAY too much engine honestly. I had the epa on throttle turned down and also was running a soft clutch setup to take away some of the brutal bottom end. My next JPX engine will be their .21 for sure.....

you do not need to add any shims for 30%, in fact you can remove 1 shim and the motor will make even more power..... adding a shim will help detune the engine, but it definitely is not needed...

i agree with Maximo. i try to run my deck hieght on my jpx .21's as close to .021 as possible. most of the time they are really close to that from factory. forgot to mention i run 30%.
if you are having problems tuning i would first replace all the fuel line and gaskets (engine to header and header to pipe) then change the glow plug. then check the clutch. then run it again. doing all that cost like 5 buck and eliminates a lot of potential problems.

So wich is the propper gasket for the picco? I know the purple comes with the JP series pipe & what I normally get.I have gotten picco blue & black gaskets from nitrohouse but dont remember wich if any come with the motors.

The gasket that I have found is the one that comes with the picco .28ft(straight one not the flanged gasket) it basicly looks like a peice of hose(no flange) that slips on the exhaust port. The big ugly ass orange ones work too but dont create as good of a eal as the picco gasket
