Yup. id agree with the Hara edition motor.
After all he did use it to get second in the japanese nationals so it cant be a bad touring motor. I was under the impression (from the orion web site) that these motors are superior to normaly brushed motors but second from Hara? If he had any advantage he would have stormed away yeah? How do these motors perform?

With the ALuminum Endbell.... how does the motor not short out? All it will take it a sloppy Solder Joint and you will have the positive and negative wires soldered to the aluminum. There looks to be no seperation. Also if you do a good job but bend the copper tabs that form a circle and bend them to touch the endbell the motor will short out.
Anyone have any in-sight?

You can't solder to the aluminum. Also the anodization does not conduct electricity. The coper tubes themselves are glued to the aluminum endbell not to scratch the anodization.

there about the same price as normal brushed motors right?

So with these motors, aligning the brush hoods are a thing of the past? It looks like the brush hoods are integrated into the aluminum endbells.

Hi,
I'm waiting to see any of these motors before giving any opinion about it, but let me say : I doubt you can have that much runs without trueing your motor. And I don't think they're that much powerful, as otherwise they'd have won the euros (at least produced a better result on a track that seemed to need a lot of motor).
So, wait and see (though the endbell looks really cool)...
