I think I will have all 20 of the M18 that I ordered 3 months ago this Friday, I can't wait.

Since I have some spare time....I figured there might be several ways to mount 6 cells without pushing the motor UP HIGH over the shaft....for micro, low CG play a hugh roll.

Stock setting with 5 cells

6 cells (stick pack) (the best layout)

6 cells (inline)

The inline layout required some cutting, and cannot be use on SSG precutted battery slot chassis...........you will need to use on stock one, then remove the battery post and holder and dremel some plastic at the end of the motor mount...then use strapping tape to tape your battery down like 12th scale pan-car style.

I think the scale of the XXL, SPY ESC, Hitec 81MG servo are very close.....the odd one is the big block motor (I used the HPI Elite one because I can't find a vertical view of the BB motor...)...and the batteries 2/3A are very close to actual size.

I hope the X-ray can be hopped up like my EXO micro.....just can't let HPI micro take all the goodies.

Just ran an M18 from my buddies shop. I really like it. Much nicer then the HPI. Very free drivetrain.. and looks like you can use droop screws.....

Anyonme know anything about the Power pack XRAY will have for these ?

Nope no servo saver but any micro servo saver should work fine I would think.

Rookie, sorry but your 6 cell chassis layout with the cells on one side won't work.

personally, i think that'll be a problem... i broke 2 servos already on my ABC x4, because it didn't have a servo saver.

Xray will offer in few days the M18 Power Pack that includes high quality metal gear micro servo, 2/3A battery pack, the worlds smallest digital speedo and high performance stock motor with integrated capacitor board. All stuff designed to fit perfectly on the M18.

The optional 6 cell chassis and super size motor holder should be available soon as well.

I beleive this will be the car of the year!! My local hobby store got in 12 and I think they were gone the first day!

Mario, my friend said he fit a Big Block in he stock motor holder, is that possible? He didn't say if he modded it or not to make it fit though.

I'm new to these micros ... does the M18 come with a body and/or motor? What's the ballpark cost to get up and running besides the kit? I've got some park flyer electrics laying around ...

Rookie here is how I mounted my six cell on the Xray. I used a thin lexan plate under the cells to hold them to the chassis.

The M18 Kit costs around $100 and comes with a body and tires but no motor or other electronics. You will need a SMALL esc, receiver, 180 size motor until the 300 size mount comes out and 5 or 6 2/3a cells. The stock chassis fits 5 cells on the left side of the chassis.
I did a small review on the M18 if you would like to read it. Here is the link.
