Default New to RC. Need help please

Hello every one, im Nick and I am new to the whole world of RC. I just got a job at a local hobby shop and I would like to start my adventure into the world of RC cars. I have heard some advise on how I should start and I think an electric off road car might be a good starting point for me. Can any one give me any extra advise to what car I should purchase for my first outgoing. Any past experience and help will be fully appreciated. Thank you!

What's your budget ?

I think the losi xxx-cr or Kyosho Rb5 is best 2 for starting out. Get a good radio and servo.

Check into the local racing scene and see what is run there. Also whatever your store carries as this will make parts easier to get for your particular car.

The slash is popular mostly in spec class. Buggies are cool to race in either 2 or 4wd versions.

If racing isn't for you then bash. Monster truck of some sort perhaps.

Why dont you ask your co-workers? Its always fun to run with others, especially when its a slow day so you can take it out to the parking lot. I'd suggest a RTR since your new to the hobby, something with good ground clearance as you dont know if your going to end up bashing or racing.

Best way to start into RC is to ask your boss for a large pay increase at work.

These days, if I were in your spot, I'd probably go Traxxas Slash. You can bash them, they're pretty durable and lots of race tracks have a large showing of Slash trucks. Here's a local track near us.
