Default This is the engine going in my Mugen...

My Mugen arrived today, I only have one engine to put in it. I'm not going to put out any more dosh this year on R/C crap, I've already spent too much. This engine was going to go into my Ofna Ultra Worlds II, but now it's going in the Mugen. What do you think? I hear they're a b*tch to tune, but rip when they're tuned well.

I've got a different back plate for it, going to use my starter box.

Default motor

I dont think it will fit with that pull starter on the back. The MBX-6 is a race car so the motor sits as low as they can get it.

Agreed, do some of you bother to read the thread or do you just skip to the "submit reply" button?

I've heard that those do not hold a tune well. Good luck, at least you are putting it in a nice buggy

i used to run budget SH / XTM motors in my high end rigs because ummm the high end rigs are expensive leaving little money for other things.

but ya, this whole hobby is a money pit and racing involves a good bit of skill and luck aside from how much your ride is worth

BTW that engine will not fit because you didn't say you are going to use a starter box or change the back plate to make it fit

I have seen it do okay with a werks 2013 pipe on it. I would definatly lose the pipe. The werks pipe is expensive so I suggest a Dynamite 053 or 086 only because that buggy is pretty light.

Rearviewmirror, those hyper 8 ports are not bad motors at all. They tune just like any other motor out there. I ran them in the day and all I would suggest is putting a good low end pipe with the motor. It wont have the low end grunt like a v-spec but it has a good mid to top. You will be fine.

Thanks everyone. I'll do what it takes to get it mounted up in the Mugen. I'll put an OS in it in the spring, I just want something that rips for the winter. I'm still really new to this stuff so it'll take me a few months to learn from everyone. I don't like posting threads asking "which is the best", I'd rather just keep reading and learning.
