Default Brushed vs Brushless ESC temps???????

Got a simple question. Being new to the brushless systems I love it!

Here is the question. Why do brushed speed controlers seem to run waaaaay cooler than the brushless. The brushed speed controlers also are nice and compact and most don't have fins. Bushless ESC are huge and have fins and fans and still seem to run really hot. Is it the motors that cause this?

lots more fets, lots more logic.

the controllers have to put out three sets of votages verse just one and the controller has to read what the motor is telling the controller what it needs.

also contrary to popular belief brushless motors can be less effienct then brushed motors. i have seen 17.5 in a 12th scale on road car dump a 4600 IB pack (brand new) due from over gearing and pushing the limit.
