you may want to stick to a 6cell ni-mh is you are looking to run spec class. I don't know if your local track runs lipos, but I believe ours is keeping it very basic and only allowing 6 cell nicd nimh. 7.4 ??4800?? limit, sub c

what's the new holiday price ??? Sorry, had to ask...

I bought a couple 7 cell Nimh's for mine and it flies... but then found out from locals at the track they only race them in Spec class and must be a 6 cell nimh or 2s lipo..

enjoy the truck

depends your spending limit. most racers choose smc, checkpoint, trakpower, orion, trinity and others. all those companies are true to their c rating and have great performing packs.

the holiday price was 159.00.I know I see a lot of lipo packs 5000 mah 2s 20c also at 4500mah.it will basically for flying around in the dirt.i have a smaller rc18 r with a mamba 6800,I run with 1400,1500 elite nimh and it is plenty fast .if I can use the nimh 5000mah in a 7 cell or 8 cell ,with the 5700kv in the 1/10 do you think it will still do well enough to not have to buy a $100+ lipo?I can buy 2 nimh custom packs for the price of 1 lipo!

if you arent racing.........buy the biggest baddest you can afford.....either nimh or lipo. if your racing (or plan on it) go ahead and buy you a race pack.

What battery will fit - really need to measure the batt box. I know that a 7 cell NiMh flat pack is about 159mm long and it fits - but almost fills the batt box. I've read that 160mm x 51mm x 24mm lipos are a near perfect fit.

If you go lipo, you'll need a lipo capable charger. 5700 will run 6 - 12 cells. Lipos will give you better run time though and run harder, longer than NiMH.

That was a good price btw!

as much as i'd like to put my 4600 in the slash for fun and to make it a good cat chaser. just somethin wrong bout puttin that much power to that fun lil truck. somehow i see the slash in the same light as my blackfoot that sits on my office shelf. just isnt meant for that kinda power. just me. find a good lipo for a good price and let it rip b/c the best battery for your slash is...

...a charged one

Im finding out that a 11.1v is no good....I just put a vxl system in mine, and got to hit the throttle once...It broke the hell out of the cvd's....If I had my chioce agian, I would go with the 7.4 Venom...

This is the $hit right here. Hands down. The are other C ratings by I found this one to be the best. A guy at one of the tracks I go to used this one as well and won mod with it and a titan motor.

i got it at hobby people after thanksgiving day 1 day blowout!they will have another sale after christmas.the biggest packs i have seen in a nimh is the 5000.some people have put the mm7700 in their slash around here, but that's definitely too much!that's why I opted to get the less powered brushless.they have also went for the 11.1v lipos that make that slash a drag /slash!i just want to bash around at more speed than stock.I do have some very capable bashers...
