Jason- How could you say that this could have been done with a conversion It only carries 5 parts over from the 05 car. Even the Bearings are different. I would have liked it to use toe blocks like Tamiya, AE, etc.... but they went another way.

Jason this is the motor that I ran in the main at the Nats, a day at B&B and the 1 hour enduro race at TQ. We really put Joe B.'s skill to the test! The motor was still fast at the end of the race!

Roly,

The thing im saying is that all the parts that were changed such as arms, knuckles, and all the other stuff is not necesary to get the changes that are actually enhancements. The biggest performance gain seems to be the camberlink inline with the kingpin.lowering the topdeck, smaller wheel bearings, and changing the arms dont make any performance gains.they could have released a new steering knuckle and c hub upgrade as a conversion.Ralph has been running it on his 05 from what im told. My main complaint is that is that the geometry of the car is not much different from what i can see in the pics.arm size and lowered top deck aside, its pretty much an 05 with a new camberlink set up.

Jason- the smaller knuckles and rear upright do lower the CG, and if you change those you have to change the axle, and since XRAY had that "unique" axle/dog bone combo you needed to change the bones to. Hey I think the FK05 is the best on the market. Hell it just finished 1,2,3,4 at the last major US race. So I don't think they needed to make a change but they did and I'll be picking one up . By the way I cant wait to see what you've been up to with Steven Sabbotka and his Dad I hear good things.

Yup. I remember my yokomo had some weird pods..... But the conversion comes with brand new pods so you dont have to worry about it. All you need from the yokomo is the axle, shock, the front end, and some of the misc hardware to mount stuff. Jason includes top plates for damper disks (stock l4 or yokomo) or damper tubes like the IRS rugrat, Hyperdrive, or CRC cars.

Oh if you didnt know already, the yokomo is just a fancy l3. It has the same frotn end. The chassis plates, rear pod/bulkhead thingys, and the front akles are a little different. The Chassis is really flexible, and it has a longer wheelbase for stabiliy on not so perfect surfaces. The car was originally designed for the Worlds in South Africa.
