Best 17.5 brushless motor for off road?
#34
FWIW, I'm running a SpeedPassion 17.5 in my X-6 (B4 internal ratio, 2.6ish) and I'm running a FDR of 5.0, which is a 66 and a 34. The motor's about 110 after a 5 minute race. I think it could use some more gear. Go up, up, up!

The losi 17.5 is a bit under the radar, but it is a seriously good motor, don't forget to put it on your list, also yeah theres some confusion with FDR's in here, fdr doesnt take into account the rolling diameter of the tyre, so trucks / buggies/ touring cars are hard to compare unless the diameter is known but in my truck with the losi motor i run fdr of 6.18 which works very well

So maybe I should just look at roll out?

yes, if u can measure the tyre diameters of the different vehicles and take into account tyre expansion on the big truck tyres etc, the easier thing to do is just compare apples to apples, so if you're looking for a truck ratio, just look at what other trucks are running
