1/8 ONROAD RACING MOTOR
Hi can someone tell me the rules/regs on 1/8 on road racing size max etc.
Also what are the better brands of motor to use in this racing, can you use buggy/truggy motors? or don't they have enough revs?
Thanks

In these motors there is turbo and standard what is the difference and I can't find many on road motors nearly all buggy doesthis matter?

Buggy engines are not going to perform in a road setting. Ignore the the offroad engines all together. Turbo plugged engines make a little more power.

That engine pictured has the wrong back plate on it. It would interfer with the side belt. No pull or rotor starts will work. Solid back coers only.

Is there any other pipe/header combo I can use with the picco mentioned in the previous post?

You can also use a 2033 pipeset as well. The Sirio 2013 gives a bit more power with a little less mileage. You also can use a Nova 2052 pipe with the medium conical header. These are the pipes that will work. But I do not know what your rules are in Australia. You can use the new picco pipes as well according the the Efra rules for mid 08 and on.

Thanks for the info, I have seen a lot of people use jp2/3 pipes will these work with the picco?

So I will have to find a sirio 2013 pipe for onroad use, as I am in australia I can't find one down under.

Hi ...
If you are on a budget (like me) a motor worth a look is the SH XT2 it has a hand made crank and ceramic piston.
I have one and it is quick enough ... cant comment on longevity yet though.
Only $200!
