Hey!

I have been testing a bit with my car on carpet w/ rubber tires now, and I have found out quite a bit....

I run Sorex tires, from 28 to 36. Mainly 32 and 36, that's usually the fastest tires... Indoors I always use the Blue JB Foam 2-piece inserts. They are the fastest inserts no matter what. Try them instead of normal molded inserts, and you'll understand...

I found that my car was a bit twitchy and not very smooth and consistent. Sometimes it almost felt a bit tweaked too. Since there's a big race coming(http://www.dhi-cup.dk ) I took every part of my car apart, cleaned it, and changed some worn parts. Then I got the idea. Every double deck car has a bottom plate and a top plate. And usually, they are not as rigid as the Demon's. And they still don't have side stiffening braces, as the TC3. So I thought, why do I need them? They're just more parts that can keep my car tweaked if so happens... And without them, my car is maybe a bit softer?

Anyways, I took them off, and after that my car was a lot grippier, a lot faster, a lot smoother, and of course, 100% straight.

The car is still stiffer than any Tamiya, X-Ray or Schumacher out there...

Hey all,

I havent had internet much lately so havent been my usual loquacious self. We re-opned the Gate Sunday and had 74 entries. A small group of us ran 19 turn class including Mike Blackstock. I didnt do so well I must admit. A little dissapointing. The only highlight was in the second qualifier when Blackstock started behind me and for a minute or two he hadnt passed me yet and on that run he went and set TQ.

But as a highlight, my Demon I built just for running stock class TQ'd!!! I let another driver borrow it for the weekend and he set TQ and finished second in the stock A-Main w/ my car.

Ray

Brian,

haha-it was so bad that in the Main-when Herrmann was battling Blackstock for the lead-I almost pulled over to watch!! But-like a good boy I kept driving till the tone.

As usual in the Main-I out accelerated the two cars in front of me off the line. This car always launches like a rocket!!!

But I found two bad wheel bearings in the back of the car and also got all screwed up in the head on droop after switching to new tires. How stupid. I put the front at 3mm upgtravel and the rear at 1.5. DOH!!!!

It wasnt just pushing, it was pushing in and loose on exit. and hard to be precise with. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE DROOPS EFFECT ON HANDLING!!! hahaha!! Thats a little tip from your Uncle Ray!!! It was very hard to drive to say the least. It was just a WIld ride!!! I am sure some part of that goes to the seized wheel bearings.
