So whats the perfect ecs/motor and pinion/spur combo for the zx-5 sp? I am gonna be running 2c 5000 lipos. Its going to be a racer not a basher, gonna be racing on blue grove and loose dirt.

Thanks

To me there is no question. I am a die hard Losi guy. However, i'm sorry to say that I'm not a fan of the xxx-4. I have owned both and LOVE my ZX-5. To me the ONLY thing the xxx-4 has on it is parts. Most race shops will have parts for the losi and not the kyosho. However, you need parts for the losi more often. The ZX-5 sp gets my vote.

I noticed you haven't really thought about the B44. Any reason why?

The RTR is not even close to the original ZX-5. C'mon guys.

The RTR has plastic outdrives, plastic shock bodies, and poorer quality plastics in general.

plastic shock bodies - this reason by itself is sufficient NOT to get the RTR.

especially when u know what fantastic shock bodies come with the std zx5 kits .. and even better velvet ones in the upgraded kits.

Sp is older by about 10 months and about a year in kit form. The suspensions are the same.

The FS is a bit different though. The diffs are 1 mm lower, shock tower mounts beefier and taller, rear shock bodies are shorter, the motor mount is blue and blingy (fits SP though), Turnbuckles are chromoly and shorter with longer ball cups, center slipper is a different design, Comes with different springs then the sp, the chassis is longer. rear dogbones match !!!!!! Everything else is obvious.

suspension is the same though !

long island raceway sells them call them 631-845-7223 ask for rob betts !

Yea man i am on my second lazer. It's a awesome 4wd. The FS has those couple little things i like about the B44 with all the things the SP had that i loved.

Both the SP and FS are great cars.

I have a XXX4 G+ and just bought a ZX5 (used) to compare since I've heard the ZX5 is so much more durable. I hope the shaft drive is almost as smooth as the XXX4 belt drive though. It is super smooth....
