This is a smc 5200 with lipo weights in a t2008 and i now have them fitted on a T2R so they fit the 009 as well. They are a tight fit as the pack is at max size but the car is very easy to balance with this set. The great thing about the smc pack too is the wires exiting on one side of the pack so you can tape it in nice and snug.

The IP 3800 lipos on the other hand do not fit well as they have bumps on the bottom of the case and this makes the battery sit on a slight angle. Pretty much all the of the bump packs are like this so they are no good IMO. Size wise they are are not a problem at all and the IP5000 fit easily also. When i was using the IP3800's I used to run a loop of battery tape around the chassis and put some thin slices of card board on top of the battery slots to level out the pack a bit. You could individually tape them on if you were a bit OCD and you could get away with using just 2. I used some cardboard of a cereal box so not too thick. After doing a rounds of the pits and bugging the local racers every pack Ive tried to fit in the car has. The Smc packs seem to be he tightest fit but all packs so far except those monster 6000+mah sports/basher packs fit in.

thanks for that benzaah,

I didn't quite understand what you were describing with the tape and cardboard, but let me ask you this. If i have already shaved off the humps on the bottom of my ib3800, it will sit flat and basically properly?

most likely as the bumps are what causes the pack to sit awkward.

Yes , da X-LAY Tee Tree. Fastest ,most racingest for all X-Lay fans.
Most guaranteed to be winning world championships .......

I love it when someone pulls out pics of a rip off ...funny that they bother copying a car like that.

I for one am enjoying my t2r pro and won't update it until they bring out a new platform that's designed around lipo packs.

I have never ran rubber tire on carpet, so with that I have a question. When you run rubber tires on carpet, do you typically run the U.S. kit or the EU kit? Wasn't sure if people just put rubber tires on the U.S. kit or if you need a car that is pretty much made for rubber tire racing.
