Pipe selection for Nova. P5XS
Need a good pipe for this motor. We are currently running a Dynamiye 086. It is horrible on fuel mileage. A fellow competitor suggested running a OS2050 which we have and will try this weekend. Any advice you guy's can give would be highly appreciated.

Novarossi 9901, I would try different header types i.e. long smooth flow, conical or short smooth flow manifold to get your desired performance.

+1 on the 9901, run a long header to help maintain bottom but it will still stay smooth and run a NR 5 or 6 plug temp range. We are running the new 3 chamber NR 3004 with a 1005 bent header. The 3005 is the bottom to mid pipe 3 chamber. we run a 808 and it is a great motor pipe set up. the Bullit 1005 is a beast on the P5xs and they include the header in the box. We are also running a 6.5 carb insert. 9 min +

+1 on the 1005! How could I forget, that thing is an animal on the P5XS! It's been a while since I used that pipe so I can't tell you how the run time is with it. I'm using the 9901 pipe with a long smooth flow header in my buggy and I'm getting at least 8.5 minutes playing it on the safe side.

I used a JP3 last weekend on my p5xs, it seemed to have good power, and it was getting at least 7 min a tank. I pitted with 7min left to go in to in the A-main and had just a little fuel left in the tank. Probably could go 7.5 to 8. That is with the stock 8mm carb.
what is the general consensus of the jp3 with a p5xs, last weekend was my first race in 3 years so I don't have much to compare it to.

i usually get anywhere from 8 1/2 - 9 min. of runtime with 8mm insert on p5xs
dropping to a 6.5mm insert increases runtime to a lil over 10 min. at 230degrees or so .
you must have a balanced tune though
happy motorin',
