Marcos - I have run the car only a few times so I don't really know it as well as I need to. I have noticed that the car likes an extremely soft set-up....
Joneser - I usually will change oil. I don't think opening and closing pistons is the right thing because of the pack change. Xray's oils are in pretty big jumps so that's why I ran Asc oil last year indoors. I ran 4 holes open with 30wt rear and 50wt front...
Salvadori - I would try running a spool!! Also run 2-3 degrees of rear toe (works better on rubber tires). Try running .5-1.5 of rear camber - you may just have too much camber for rubber tires and you are losing the contact patch on exit.

Josh,
I have noticed that many of the x-ray pilots where I am are switching out their plate graphite chassis for the composit one when racing outdoor pakinglot tracks, could you please explain to me why I would want to do this? I just orders the new kit last night but now I am wondering if I will need to order the tub chassis too.
Thanks,
Mark

Josh - I haven't had time to keep up with this thread, but is the 1/12th available? The Fed Ex guy must have gotten lost or something.

josh,
I recently decided to buy the new F/T X-RAY car. im going to be running stock and 19t foam and was woundering what i will need to get the car rolling, i know that i will have to buy a diff due to the fact that the car comes with a one-way, but is there anything else i would need besides springs??? just a short list will work nothing extensive.
thanks, lazyboy

You'll need tires, inserts, and a body, obviously.
Other than springs, and MAYBE sway bars, you'll be good to go out of the box.
I prefer to run 6 degree caster blocks and no kickup, so that may be something you'll want to try.

Salvadori - Each side - not total...
mtveten - It could be because the plastic chassis has more flex - usually more grip, especially in low traction situations. When the bite comes up though they might struggle with steering and a "lazy" reaction. Also, the car may chatter..... A properly set-up TC (shocks, roll center and camber links) will perform really well even with a stiff chassis (TC3, Losi and the new Xray chassis) - the flexi chassis is usually what we call a crutch - Don't get me wrong though - sometimes it is needed!!!
Aaron - The car is shipping!!...lol.. I think the FedEX guy made a wrong turn!!!
lazyboy - Springs and a front diff... Yep, that's about it... ... I usually run 3 degree castor and no kick up on carpet with foams - If you go to my web site I do have all of the set-ups from the indoor carpet season up in the SETUPS/TIPS area....

Josh,
Can you explain how the different ackerman settings affect the Xray, and the reasons behind the extensions on your car. (Sorry if I missed an eariler explanation.)

Motor spring
Hello Josh,
-What spring tension would you use with a Fantom 12x1 for a medium/high speed track (asphalt, touring, rubber, 5 minutes racing, warm conditions).
-Which timing?
-Which brushes?
Thanks,
Hugo
