Thanks bakadude,
Yep, that is one of the tricks I tried along with many others from the F1 gurus that are out there.
I always run Tamiya HBR Mediums up front, preferably the older # as I feel they have less steering than the newer ones.
I don't sauce the fronts at all, ever, on asphalt. Carpet, sauce varies.
Just use the sauce of choice for that track, match what is being laid down by the other cars.
I also always run the black front springs but don't like the spacer, gets unpredictable and doesn't seem to make it push any more than without the spacer, just seems to skip around a bit more.
The harder compound tires seem to take away all of the steering and not just some of it.
Still think there is a magic durometer/shore rating that I haven't found that will get it just right when the mediums bite too much.
Til then, the superglue has me pretty happy.
The premounts are about as close to perfect as you can get for touchy asphalt.

In the past I used Tamiya tires all the time. But when Tamiya tires started to change,I went with Zac Project tires.
Most eveybody I run with agrees that the newer Tamiya Mediums did change. This happened here about 2 years ago.
Tamiya also has the pre mounts,AO tires and wheel set.
So you have all these tires that dont really have a way of knowing what you are getting. Tamiya softs are about the only tires that havent changed.
I like haveing a number to look at. Ok Im using 30 shore and i need more grip. OK let try 25 shore. I hate the color system. double pink,WTF does that mean.
Zac Project tire used to be Kawahara, now its just Zac Project. Zac Project are sold through Tabata in America. Zac Project makes just about every sponge third party tire here in Japan. Your TRGs included. They also make the new tires and wheels that Kyosho America sells now for 1/8th scale cars.
Anyway you should look into them as it takes alot of the guess work out of sponge tires.
If you are stuck running Tamiya tires you might try the AO tires if you havent yet, just another option most people dont think about.

Taman, where did you get those decals for 023? I have the same paint job, but it lacks the decals.
