I just finished up my McLaren tonight. I got twins...sort of. The McLaren is the one with the white Pirelli stickers. I screwed up the helmets trying to paint some details so I'll be starting over tomorrow.

For added realism do Schumi in both cars - sort of a Dr Who deal (What? When??? )

nose needs a bit of color, but other than that they look sweet. though the mclaren looks a lot more like the actual mercedes

Not at all, I think it's really cool that you are doing your own areo prototyping and your enthusiasm for all things F1 rc is awesome! You're getting it done and living the dream.

That being said, when the grand poohbahs post pictures of their works, in general, we usually don't go into rivet-counter mode on them And if we do, it's usually to poke fun at them On that note...Vyg, your missing pitot tubes +0.1s per lap, missing helmet depending on driver +0.5 to -1.0s per lap, no blue aluminum body posts +2.0s per lap.

@RTypeC – so what your telling me is my car is even slower?!? I’m out! I quit…I’m selling all of it…I don’t want play anymore. I haven't even hit the track and I'm already going backwards. I’m going back to amateur taxidermy. If anybody has any road kill in the freezer shoot me a PM.

Can I use the regular polycarb paint to paint the mclaren rear wing? Or do I use a different paint?

You can use the regular polycarb paint, that's what I did on my McLaren.

That is probably the best plan to use lexan/polycarb paint. It bites into the plastic more and also has a flex agent. I've tried a few different things, and nothing holds up forever, but regular lexan paint seems the best.

Vinyl is cool, but it's a pain to get on....

Agree on the vinyl. Lexan paint was also used on the rear wing on this car. Here is my McLaren F104 that I just recently sold to a fellow racer. I kept the body one piece instead of doing the separate pods and adding the barge boards and other accessories--didn't feel like chasing down small parts on the track after "minor" contact.

Looking for some input. F1 rules, love the class and cars. Due to the lack of running in my area i'm looking for a new project. Currently own a trg f109 with custom front end aka(104 killer) and a f103 for those moments that everyone still runs them wide. Well my question is to those who run more than a 21.5, want to set up a open f1 and am wondering if the fgx is a good choice? Thanks in advance.

All vinyl front and rear wings on this one (Green and white over black stock pieces). When you ding up a nose, a fresh sheet and looks new again.
