I have all of a sudden had the lower arm pivot balls start popping out. I thought it was just an old set of arms, but I changed to a new set, and its still happening. Was working on the front end last night and the pivot balls came off with the kingpin, both sides. What gives here? Just stock pieces.

A few months ago I sold up my F1 kit to go to 1/8th Nitro On Road.. bit of a departure I know but it's basically all that's raced at my local track.
So I got all this shiny new 1/8th gear only to have it all run over by a guy on a quad bike whilst I was breaking in my new engine. (see attached)
So I've decided to go back to F1 since it's much more affordable and I've got all the gear apart from the car, so if anyone is selling an old F103 let me know
The F103 Ultra from exotek looks fantastic! that might be on the horizon..

Not tot bash the FGX, but I think that it is slightly misleading to say the the FGX is the less expensive option. True the purchase price is less, and even with a conversion kit you are around the $200 mark. But from what I have read on here, you need to keep a good stock of spares on hand to race this car. For a driver that is running week in and week out and only brushes the board occaisionally, he or she will probably not need that many spares. For a newbie to come in and run the FGX, IMO they will go thru a lot of parts trying to get in tune with the car. Any of the 104 variants are going to withstand the abuse of someone learning to drive them with minimal parts replacement. I'm not saying they dont break, but to me they are a more robust design, and will be a little more forgiving than the FGX.

I think x1 kits can still be found a couple of locals racers picked up a couple just before nats so there must be a few left somewhere. The wgp edition is not necessarily a bad deal for one wanting a rubber kit, the narrow front end pieces are very cheap enabling you to convert for about $20 or so.
