Oh... I painted the inside for the driver also just because that's how the Tamiya finished body came. Hmmm..

With a Spitfire you're supposed to say "F1 WIDE open!"
Um... that wasn't possible. We had to turn the throttle back to 80% and it still won the class as the TQ driver dropped out. My own car lapped me twice and put me in the wall. What a shame.

That's the problem with racing. They keep putting the walls too close to the !!!#% track!

Ok, I like the d-drivesportsenglish site but I keep hearing about rc champ. Which one has better shipping rates and not have to wait 6 weeks to get stuff?

Both are order on Sunday, parts in hand by Thursday. Shipping is about the same, $15 to $20.00. Champ is by far less expensive.

I'm still thinking about adding a 15 anny to the collection, it would probably sit next to my M03R, sealed and on the shelf! Nobody races neither chassis type here unfortunately.

Looking through this thread I have seen some awesome F103 chassis'.. Great work everyone..

Default Ceramic bearings.

Anyone use ceramic bearings on F103? Do you notice the difference? Are they just lower friction than metal bearings or are they also more durable?
TIA.

Here's my HPI Super F1... I bought it when HPI re-released it about 4 years ago.... I raced it brielfy at So Cal RC Raceway.... it's still in great running order and now that BCR and Camarillo have F1 classes, I hope to be racing it soon... sorry it's not in "Racing" livery.... I built it to race and not sit on my shelf... I have an F201 that's a shelf queen that I'll post later

akura2, check with vyger and lightfoot about the F1 races going on out there. Time to get that HPI out and making laps again. The HPI team came in 2nd at the First F1 Builders Cup. They missed winning by only 1 point against Hyperdrive. Some crackerhead from MLP went across the line in 2nd place (was that me?) and messed up the whole show for them...ahhh the memories.

My project 2008

Low profile servo horizontal placed.
upper deck connected wit he front end.

is still evolving.
Now with thinner chassis ( 2,5 mm )
Next step : CRC ( pro10 ) axl with pro10 tires ( Rear )

The Tamiya diff witht hex conversion is too heavy.
Also have to make my lipo fit nice.
Might take the TRF M03 short dampers to winn som space for the lipo.

Default Lipo..

OK... I am like 2 years behind here. I have been using NiMH batteries for my driveway racing.(I don't race at the track. .. . there is no track around here). I would like to try Lipo now.
From my readings I figured out this much..
1. I need a new ESC with voltage cut off...or the buzzer... How well do the buzzers work?
2. I need a Lipo charger. = I think I will buy the Intellipeak ICE. I like Duratrax chargers.
3. I need a balancer
4. 2 cell 7.4V is what will fit.

I don't need the top of the line stuff. I just need what will work.
What would you recommend for the ESC and balancer?

Q's...
1. Does a 3000 mah Lipo last longer than a 3000 mah NiMH?

2. How long would a 3000 mah Lipo last on a F103 with a silver can?

3. How long does it take to charge a 3000 mah Lipo?

4. Am I forgetting anything important?

TIA.
