The parts aren’t fastened yet in the pics, so the alignment isn’t exactly perfect.

It was also my first time using this type of paint. It goes on really transparent, even after three coats as suggested in the instructions. Then you hit it with the black and BAMM! It’s like a mirror. I still have to apply the paint to the rear wing side plates, mirrors, and the side splitters. I would suggest getting two cans if you plan to paint it as instructed.

looks great, can't wait to see the finished product

I suppose you could, but the paint would probably chip. The wheels used in the picture are the Metal Plated Mesh Wheels for rubber tires from Tamiya #54201

Yes and no. The McLaren has two pieces you have to use to make the intake look complete/finished. However, they aren't as big as the Ferrari F60's, so if you're looking to make this seasons car with the stock parts it won’t work. I'm not sure if the F60 parts would mount/fit but it might be worth taking a look at. I hope this answers your question.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. The Redbull looks sweet. What track is that? I like the second story pit area.

We were at Gulf Coast Raceway (Mike's Hobby Shop). It was the home track to the 2010 IFMAR 200mm onroad worlds.

Wondering if Tamiya makes a spray chrome paint? At the local hobbyshop, there is a chrome paint from Alclad brand and it needs to be airbrushed.

I think the one they use is PS-48, but don't quote me on that as I haven't yet got to use it.

Cheers

They already have it. It's called PS-48 Metallic Silver (Chrome) - 100ml Spray Can, #86048.

Here's the link: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=86048

How I wish our local hobby shop can organise F1 class races in Singapore. Other than the one organized by Tamiya, basically there are none at all. I guess the enthusiasm for F1 class is much lesser... only for fun race...
