Best Servo

Best Servo
Hello All,
Just getting back into the sport.
I purchased a couple of the new Losi 8 buggies. Having been out of the sport for a few years, I would like to know what the BESTsteering and trottle brake servos are for this application. What are the Pro's using in the 1/8 scale buggies?
Thanks,
Mike

servo's
with my losi eight t and b I think that the hitch servos work best for sterring because they have a nice amount of torque. For throttle I run the futaba 9451 because it has alot of speed.

In the Losi I would run the toughest servo you can get. I've heard the JR servos hold up well. I didn't have the best luck with Hi-tec as a throttle servo in my Losi, so I cant recommend that. However Hitec did work well in the steering though and they have great customer service. Save your hitec receipt so you can send it in if anything happens.
Here are some top models the fast guys are running:

I currently run these in my Xray XB808's:

Buggy doesn't require a massive servo for steering, but I wouldn't drop below 125in oz.
Personally I use the Futaba BLS451 for both duties which is rated @ .10 sec and 147in oz. It's an amazing servo and only weighs 2oz.
I've also used the Ace DS1313 which was rated at .13sec @ 173in oz torque and weighs in at 2.32oz. It wasn't quite as nice as my new Futabas, but it's also nearly half the price.
I'm a firm believer that if you spend the money for a top of the line servo, you won't be sorry. Ever.

The "best" anything in r/c imo is only subjective. Even though there's alot of cheapo servos there's alot of good ones as well too. But - personally I've not had any problems with the JR Z9100 servos. I've also heard good things of the Futaba brushless servos, Ace servos, and Airtronics servos. Quite a few other manufacturers of servos as well.

I am the same way but I have a top $ futaba servo and it broke after 2 months of use (about 8-10 days) it took a month to fix and it cost me over $50 to fix (with shipping) I went hitec and never looked back

Wow, most the guys at my track use the Futaba BLS's and have never had an issue. Hopefully I won't either. hehe.

I would try the KO high torque servos. They last a long time and if you had any issues they have good customer service. The usually attend some of the big races which you can get your stuff repaired at the track if you had any issues.

Hitec & JR both make some good servos but the fact is ALL servos die eventually. Both companys repair servos with no reciept required & no questions asked.I live near Hitec & know several people that work there so I use those,,,except in the cars I have JR servos in.LOL
The only servo I will never touch again is airtronics as I personaly have had nothing but bad luck with them over the years I think their over priced & over rated.I have seen many pros that get free servos use them happily though.

just found this tonight, don't know anything about it yet, but I sure am thinking about.
Airtronics 94780M MG Digital High-Power Servo
The Airtronics 94780M is the highest-torque servo in a standard case on the market today, and it is as fast as many other servos with much lower torque. Inside and out, this servo is built for reliability and performance.
It is perfect for high-torque applications such as steering for 1/8th vehicles, the rudder on larger aerobatic aircraft, all control surfaces for high-power large jets (not the small park flyers, however!), and all control surfaces on 27% or larger scale planes.
