it seems like everyone knows there's an issue except Futaba, they are like : "what?? never heard of anything similar.. receivers shutting down because of heat??? ...nahhh....you are the first one that's called for that..."

I have the 75mhz module, if it doesn't check out to be the servo I'lll give that try......I ran spektrum until the fasst system came out, and had my share of glitches with it, but my futaba has been good for over a year and a half, haven't lost my faith that it could be something else.....

Just go with the Xtremelink system. If my Fasst system gives me any problems, that is what i am moving to.

I've read that Futaba has known about this issue for a while. My friend had the same issue and contacted Futaba. He was told to make holes in the receiver box, mount the receiver standing up, and try not to leave it in the sun!

I deactivated my failsafe and have not had any problems. I hope it's not just a matter of time.

Oh they know, there tech basically told me there was nothing they could do about it until Futaba japan comes up with a fix, I asked about a refund and he laughed. That's a great thing to here when your sitting on $500 worth of radio gear in the middle of racing season. I hope they enjoy the money they screwed me out of because I will never again own one of there products and I'll make sure to let everyone know that's shopping for a new radio my story. I sold there junk and am back to running Nomadio where customer service actually means something.

There's several on ebay right now - where I've been getting mine. Faast sure has made them cheap!

http://toys.shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40...3ip&_sacat=220

On another thread about Faast probs a guy from down under said he's been told it's an overheating chip in the rx and it needs to be re-designed. Which they don't want to do - admit there was a real prob.

I smoked an R603FS due to overheating, and replaced it with an R604FS that I had been using in my TC. No such problems since. The Rx actually keeps a normal temp, even sitting adjacent to my Rx pack.

4pk.

Edit: Straight from A-main:
This is the Futaba 2.4GHz R604FS 4-Channel Receiver with FASST (Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology) Technology for use with Futaba 4PK 2.4GHz FASST transmitter or the Futaba 3PK radio with FASST transmitter module systems. Unlike less reliable single antenna receivers, Futaba employs an antenna diversity system-one internal and one external antenna on the R604FS receiver to eliminate dead spots anywhere on the track
