Default SLASH GEARING

IM NEW TO THIS SO BARE WITH ME,
WHAT GEARING SHOULD I START RACING A SLASH AT?
I KNOW IT DEPENDS ON THE TRACK SIZE BUT I RAD THE THREAD
ON BURNED UP MOTORS AND IM ASSUMING ITS FROM OVER GEARING.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

i ran my with the stock gearing and didn't have any problems. Before I ran mine though I took the pinion off the motor and clamped my drill to the shaft and put the drill in reverse to break the brushes in alittle before I ran it with a battery. You could also run a few packs through it in training mod to break the brushes in.

If you are using the stock 86t spur I would stay between a 17t to 23t pinon.
