I got the body set from tamiya usa 20.00 + 7 shipping. I was looking at the hpi rally and thought why not???? It is a Dark impact body shell and it fits the chassis like a glove and the mounts are already on the df-03ra parts tree too the chassis are the same on both cars oh and the hpi rally tires have incredible traction too

yeah the HPI tires are a big improvement over the stocks.

Hey guys,
Planning to buy a DF-03RA as well.
With the Subaru '08, are there holders for LEDs included as well?
tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=51364
"H/J Parts (Mirror/Lightcase) made from black ABS resin. One side of lightcases are metal plated." ==> Are these included in the DF-03RA kit?
Those HPI tires, how well do they work on tarmac?

I don't know if the light buckets are included, but I know the HPI rally tires come in two compounds. Get the medium or hard so the tarmac doesn't wear too easily on the tires. If theyr'e too soft, you'll have bald tires in no time.
Looks like it does come with that lightbucket set.

Thank you for your reply. As I can see from the images the users posted, there are not. But maybe they just didn't fit them?

You can set 2 wheelbases: the standard 257mm and the 251mm for the shorter body's (like the Suzuki SX4).
Don't know exactly what you need to change.

Edit: can't post images
Is there a reason to use the front body posts (there are 2 positions in front, on the suspension tower and on the foam bumper)?
In the manual they say to grease the diffs, did you guys do that?
Still have some doubts for the paint scheme...

Is the stock plastic parts of this chassis fibre reinforced like TA05/TB03?
#104
Not sure where you saw a TA05 (or TB for that matter) with fibre reinforced chassis parts, but no, this one isn't either.

I built a df-03 buggy awhile back for my 6 year old daughter, and we've been having a blast with it. The buggy is quick, tough as nails, and just all around fun. However, it definately has a big heat problem with airflow to the motor. I can see this being a issue on the rally edition as well, especially when running two shells? I have been running a 19 turn orion element and that does very well on the 85 or 86 tooth spur, but I stuck in a 14x2 and now it gets hot just running the thing 30 seconds across the concrete. Time to order the 23 tooth pinion I guess. However, noone has yet to mention my biggest pet peeve about the car, and that is the horrible battery mounting. I have already trashed at least two battery packs due to the way the wires get pinched. I finally got mad and using a side cutter hacked part of the chasssis away by where the wire bends up and comes through, but it's still really not enough to help much especially on 12 gauge wire like my lipo pack has...
