Tamiya DF-03Ra

I ran it on 3s at I think 26/82. On 2s for racing I had it 26/85. It was slow with that though. 35mph if not slower

I was using a MM with the 6900kV motor. The gearing I had probably wasn't low enough. Also, my gauge ot temperature was to the touch, so maybe it really was running at an OK temp It was just a lot hotter than it would be if it had ventilation. I didn't like the idea of it being hot under the cover...

Yeh... Well you need to cut some holes in the body then.. I dont know about the RA but on my buggy, there are openings over the motor and I cut some small holes in the body for ventelation

I'm wondering that since you can fit a buggy shell under the WRX shell with ease, maybe instead of cutting a hole in the buggy shell for ventilation as many DF03 owners do, mount a fan on it? You still have the Wrx shell as protection. How far over the motor does the buggy shell go before being "trimmed to fit"

That is actually a very good idea... It would probably have to be a relatively small fan due to the shaft. But there is enough space. And you could just cut that section of the buggy body off... It wouldnt affect the way it mounts at all. I might try that sometime... First I have to rebuild all of my diffs though... NEVER run this buggy on 3s... I have my slipper set rediculously loose and still fried gears in no time... Also if your running a MM its best to run about 20-30% punch... Just to be safe on your gears and makes it run a little cooler supposedly... I havent done this yet.
I can see this car as the perfect Gymkhana car... I might have to convert my buggy just for that!!!

Yeh I might try that on my buggy... Doesnt look like itll take any mroe space and I can easily put a few holes there for the air to actually cycle...

Yeah just goin to see how it goes, if it works ideally I'd put a higher rpm fan in and a grill over the top. But the top heatsink bars just didn't move the heat far enough for my liking. I always found that fan's work well, my TA-05 has a 10.5 with a LRP motor fan on it and it's never gone over 38 degrees celcius even after a 10 minute race.

Wow thats really good... I deff need to put some fans on well... All of my stuff... Especially my revo... I never tried a fan like this though... I will have too

I got most of my kit together.
I have a question though. Should I be able to spin the drive shaft by hand? I cant right now. Is there something wrong?

Well that depends... Do you have a motor installed? If so what kind? Are the tires touching the ground?
