The 720 is a really good car. I had one a while back that DJ Apolaro, one of Serpent's top drivers, set up for me. I hadn't driven an onroad car in 10 years and let me tell you that car was planted. It made a beginner like me look decent. Your problem is definitely not who manufactured the car. Instead it is all set up and maintenance. You have a very good car, just learn it and then beat those guys with the X-rays and Kyoshos. You might want to search for DJ on these forums. He spends alot of time here and is very friendly and willing to help.

Incidentally, I sold my 720 and got a MTX4R but if wasn't for performance reasons. I felt the 4R was stronger car and could take more abuse. Being a new driver to onroad I was braking too many A-arms. The car kept fooling me into taking corners tighter and tighter. I kept thinking it would push a little, but it didn't. Like I said, it was planted.

You have a great car, just learn the setup and you will be good.

but the car is very nervous as you said..

i use solid axle in the front....

rear diff oil i think is 30 000

rear spings are hpi soft i think,

rear spring oil i think is 35..

i tried to change the dual rate and it made difference but when it come to close bents (tight track it understeers)

they all say my car is drifting to give you an idea

the rear end is not forgiving at different speeds...

i wish i had a car tha goes like the one in the vid..

i think we need to buy one from the team drivers and copy down all the setups..
Try a lower rear diff oil 20,000 or even 10,000.
Make sure nothing is binding in the rear suspension. all arms more freely. NO STICKYNESS
Where is your rear roll center? The lower the hinge pin, the more rear traction.
As stated rebuild your shocks. Same oil fr/rr

What body?

I ran my 720 with the box setup on a low traction track and it worked just fine. yours should too

Didrace, DJ Apolaro is frequently on the 720 thread below. Go there and scroll down to post #4100 which is his most recent post. You can send him a PM if you wish or just post your question on that thread. There are many 720 owners that can help you out, but feel free to contact him directly. He is a great guy and represents Serpent very well.

Serpent springs for a Serpent car!
Don't mix and match parts! know what you are using.

The springs from Serpent come in packs of four (front and rears). They are pretty easy to use and can help tune your car for any track. Most of the regular Serpent racers keep a full set of Serpent springs and shock oil in our race kits. It's an additional tool to have.

The rougher the track, the softer the springs. The smoother the track the stiffer the springs.
Rougher= low traction / smoother= higher traction.

You never thought that you needed so much, just to go racing! We all started the same way. You'll get it right!

Guys remember my first post? kyosho and x ray smashed the ifmar world champions...

serpent did not even come close to them...

all the first cars were kyosho and x ray..

can anyone explain why ? 720 should have taken a place if it was that good..

Serpent didnt send any of their fastes guys, and kyosho and xray sent big teams.

Also, because you have little expirience, you can buy any car and it would give you the same problems you have with your 720. Put the setup on the 720 back to stock and the car should handle good. At the level most of us drive, the car doesnt make the difference. Its the setup and driving expirience that will let you go fast.

An excuse for what?

Serpent is reorganizing their business, they moved their production facility to Asia, they were busy because of this.

Only the future can tell what will happen.. Hopefully we will see some snake's winning the trophies of the big events. But nowadays all cars are quite good if they are setup correctly. So its more skill and good engine tuning .

Serpent used to be the best and no one made cars like them 10 years ago...

They had the impulse impact vector venteq and they were winning a lot of races . But those that had a serpent they had to be rich..like those that had the infernos..
