Default Need opinions on first truggy

My buddy and i are about to start racing the local clubs around here and i was wondering what is the best bang for you buck truggy? Also what are some good batteries and chargers? I want to do this right and have the right equipment to be pretty competitive. Appreciate it.

What do you mean by "truggy?" What type of vehicle are you looking for?

I thought "truggy" was a stadium truck converted from a buggy? How about the other way around? The JConcept J82 looks VERY intriguing. All you need is a RC10T4 and the J82 conversion kit and you'll have an offroad buggy in a size somewhere between 1/10th 2WD buggy and 1/8th buggy...

It's one of the latest craze. Check out the thread on here in the off-road section if you want to see it.

Other then that, you can just buy a RC10T4 and race that as-is. It's a great truck and stadium trucks are a great place to start in RC. They are much more forgiving then buggies (unless you convert them into the J82) and being a 2WD, they are much more easier to wrench on then 4WD buggies...

No, no, no. He's talking about a real truggy.

Browse here.

There's plenty of other places to get whichever one you choose.

I would say get a Mugen but that's just me.

I think he is talking about electric converted 1/8 truggies sice he asked what are the best batteries and chargers.

Team Caster is coming out with RTR electric converted 1/8 truggies and buggies.

Good Luck.

I might as well throw a guess on here... He's new, so I doubt he knows about 1/8 scale electric conversions. I'd bet he's just talking about stadium trucks.

Truggy generally refers to a 1/8th scale nitro powered truck, directed towards racing.

This is the electric thread so I am a bit confused myself.

Regardless, CEN Racing makes an awesome first time Nitro Truggy. Definately the best bang for your buck.

No, the T4 is an Electric Stadium Truck

A truggy is 4wd, a stadium truck is not.

Most truggies are 1/8 scale nitro but they do make 10th scale electric ones such as the CEN ME10TR which should be a good truck. I have a CEN MG10MT which is basically the gas version of that. Right now I am in the process of converting it to electric with a Feigao 7XL which is way overkill for that truck.

Ya sorry guys i actually meant stadium truck i thought truggys were the same thing. I have actually consider nitro now since my buddy is racing his nitro i wanna run the same class. I wanna nitro stadium truck or truggy. Not really sure what class is bigger to race around here. i have consider the Traxxas Nitro Rustler for my first one since there are a bunch of replacement parts and the customer service is great (I had a Tmaxx) I like the Cen Truggy but man its expensive. I kinda wanna stay around 300 to 400 bux for a RTR truck.

Edit: i actually found the Cen truggy for 400 bucks here http://www.nitro-toyz.com/ceg9561.html see what i want is something i can mess with at my house then something i can be very competitive when i race it.

If you want to go nitro I would recommend the Team Associated RC10GT2 RTR. It is priced around $290.

If you want to go electric I would recommend the Team Associated RC10T4 RTR. It is priced around $225.

I recommended the Associated trucks because of the great parts support and quality. Just my 2 cents.

They run about 30-35 MPH with everything stock on them. They have carb restrictors on them that you can pop out for a little more punch and speed. You really don't need much speed if you are going to be racing. And remember; Practice is the best Hop Up.
