Not surprised to hear that, v-specs are the most overrated engine in the history of RC. if you do go with another v-spec make sure u pick up a tube of engine sealant and some half decent bearings and rebuild the engine and do what the factory dosent, clean, seal and replace the rubbish bearings and you might be lucky to get 5 gallons out of it if you baby it like hell. Or you could just buy a nova or RB and plug and play.

I'd go to Tower and get an EB Mods Vspec. For another 100 bucks, you can get an engine where Ed from EB has fixed all the flaws of the stock V-spec, plus he mills the crank and balances it with silicone. Much smoother power delivery. Excellent engine.

1. Ed isn't doing those motors anymore. Does Tower still have any?

2. The silicone has nothing to do with balance.
