Default Lipo Balancer

Looking for a balancer but there are so many out there . What separates a good balancer from a bad one . Don`t have a lot of $ right now so I can`t spend a lot . for right now looking for $40 and under . Seen some from $5 to over $100 .

I obtained the lipo update for my GFX but it does not incorporate a balancer with the charger in the update.

Thanks for posting the question. This will be my next purchase.

Lipo Balancers are pretty universal so if the voltage or number of cells falls within range then it is a matter of getting the right plugs/connections.

All balancers should do the job.

I haven't really heard of a bad Balancer on the boards. There may be some, but, I still haven't heard of that.

I liked the Hyperion LBA10+ . it worked well with my MRC989. I think the trakpower one is very similar to it.

commonsense makes a balance pro which has a voltage meter built in to it, this is a very easy to use balancer and also trakpower v-balancer is easy also. What type of lipo cells are you using?

I've been using the Checkpoint balancer since the beginning of this season (every weekend and at least 2 practice days per week) and it works great. Just pick up a few extra 7.5A fuses in case one blows.

do you have to have the checkpoint charger for the balancer to work?

You don`t need the T.C charger for the balancer to work .

^^^^ the LBA10 is a great balancer - its the one built in to my 0610I Net Hyperion charger. It is also sold as the Equinox balancer.

this last one is passive (i.e. dischager balance only)

Depending on the amount of imbalance , the lowest cell can be pulled too low and/or the highest cell can be charged too high without knowing. If it get too far out of hand (over or under) then that cell(s) will be damaged either imediately or over time.
