Every servo will burn out eventually, so get one that will be replaced with less hassle if possible. I've always run Hitec's, but I have recently switched to the new Futaba brushless for throttle, its super fast and smooth. The only thing you have to be careful about is the length of the servo body, its longer on the futabas.

If you don't get the futaba brushless my second choice would be this one....

I got 3 jr servos to send back again. 2 9000T are no big deal because I almost lock out servo savers & the gears just got worn/excess pay around center.I would say I got more than my moneys worth from both considering the abuse they took & their still in warranty.The 3rd is a 9000s & died in about 4 tanks.The S was a replacement for the recall they had & it buzzed louder & more often than normal during alignment so was probably bad before I opened the package but again still under warranty.Only complaint I have is JR warranty takes 1-5 weeks(experienced both extreames) but Hitec warranty is 1-3 days(I live down the road from them).Both brands have about the same life span & cost about the same.The best thing to remember as said above is ALL servos WILL die eventually.

I have been running this combo all year and have not had a lick of trouble!
Steering: Hitec 5955 (333/0.15))
Throttle/Brake: Hitec 5965 (138/0.10)

But I have also heard of the Hitec 5985 (172/0.13)for throttle too...

In JR, I have seen this combo working well too!

Steering: JR8711 (403/0.15)
Throttle/Brake: JR8800T (188/0.15)

Now that I have them in the buggy I am not sure if my choice on throttle is quite strong enough.

7985mg seems strong and fast for steering but 7965mg just doesn't seem quick or strong enough - although my carb/brake angles may not be the best a 5996tg was in there and did just fine (110oz). I am thinking of going with the monster 7955tg for steering, 333 should be more than enough, then switching the 7985mg to throttle brake. I think this would be a overkill combo, but I want some strong servos.

Thanks for the ideas, I saw a 9100T JR servo at my LHS and after your suggestions put it on my axial scorpion, and its very fast and strong. I am sure it will get the torture test, and its likely I may switch to JR next season (after winter rock crawlin torture test).
