Practice Lap Timers
Anyone know if a good freeware hand counting lap timer for a PC? I'm looking for something I can have someone watch my practice runs and take lap times by hand on the laptop just like a stopwatch, but I want to save them for review at the end of the day. I'm too cheap to but the Orion setup. I have one called Pit tools but you can't save the runs, only print them and that can't be done in the pits.

type that into browses easycr6 its free! The program has gear ratio calculator and a lap timing program for up to i think 10 cars It works its free!!!!!

oops
forget the easy-rc6 it was a long time ago when i first came across it and after i posted about it i went to the site it see if it was as i remembered,NOT although the site is good thay now want $9 for the lap counting and most important it does not keep track of lap times MY BAD

Are there any affordable timing systems other than the Orion? I'm looking into buying one just so i can use it when practicing.

The reason i'm asking is because i usually practice alone at a schoolyard and i can't convince my girlfriend to hold a stopwatch for me and write down lap times.

When not playing with R/Cs, I am a software engineer.
If anyone has a ARM based Pocket PC even an older one like the original Compaq iPAQ 3600 I have a program that I use that works with the Pocket PC.
If you have a newer Pocket PC 2003 I also have a very capable version for that device.
It keeps track of Laps and even has a "crash" feature which when pressed keeps track of the time it took you to get moving again so you can see how crashes and screw ups impact your time.
It exports to Excel on the Pocket PC and then can be translated to any version of Excel on Windows.
I developed it a few years ago -- I posted it and only had 1 person ever download it and give it a try. I use it for myself but if there is enough interest I can upgrade with newer features.
I have a Palm Pilot version as well but its a bit buggy at this time because I have only recently started to program the Palm.

I'd like the Palm version but one question, how do I press the button while I'm also driving???
