Tire sauces being banned in indoor tracks?
There seems to be a strong move by indoor tracks to use orderless tire treatments.. Paragon seems to be the one that getting banned and Jack the Gripper seems to be the one that tracks allow... Have not heard about Niftech being listed as a banned substance....
Just wondering about other indoor tracks....

they think all the fast people use paragon so they want to slow them down to what they are using

maybe the track owners should install better ventilation systems instead of banning this and that... go figure

or how about someone spend a boat load of money on research and testing and come up with tires that don't need traction compound, and then sell them for 18.00 a set, and preglued so we don't bitch thier making to much money.
our local indoor track does'nt allow paragon, SIR seattle washington

PARAGON FOR LIFE
but to the subject at hand. yes paragon used oil of winter green which to some people gives them headaches as it has a strong odor. you can use paragon FX-II which is Paragon's no smell version. not bad for touring car still lacks on 12th scale in the last minute or 2. some poeple say that jack doesn't smell I just say it effect less people then paragon. I know a local racer that had an adverse effect from jack. I just hate the stupid brush that it has and that it too dries out too fast for 12th scale although fine for TC. and then there is martin crisp who has real senitive skin as he had to quit racing due to the chemcials in motor spray and oils and solder. trust me paragon is the least of your worries in this sport, granted it still has it's hazards. Niftech has some strong chemicals but not a bad odor so it's still not the best for you health wise. I'll have to dig up the testing someone did a while back about the 3 major compounds. as this comes up about once a year.

Have many of you tried Red Dot? I recently went to a new carpet track and there was no groove at all. I forgot to pack any tire additives and the only thing the shop had was Red Dot. I was really happy with this stuff. The odor is not bad and it worked real well. What I really liked is this stuff never seemed to fade away no matter how long I ran. Even at the end of the run the tires still felt sticky. They may even retain the compound to well if there was a build up of the compound on the track.

even then, i think that there are many other dangers to be adressed.
Things like using rotary tools w/o safety googles, charging nimhs at 9+ amps (hell, charging lipos at 9 amps ), exposed powersupplys w/o cases (i've seen more than a few), spraying motor spray/ using isoropyl alcohol/ spraying simple green/ vairous other chemicles BESIDES stanky-ass tire sauce.
Sure, many of these things won't make you live longer, and i think most people wouldn't be too butthurt if they could omit a couple of their non-neccesity chemicles, but you also have to think to yourself,
"what's next? shin gards for turn marshals?"
albeit this is an exageration.
enough from me (for now...)
