If your going to try and store them for that long do it with at least half a charge in them. And I would cycle them every 6-8 weeks just to check them. If your serious about racing I would keep them for practice packs next year or sell them. By the fall I am sure there will be new and better stuff out already. But we are talking about Fukuyamas also right, so even an old worn out Fukuyama pack is going to be competative. I have abused and overheated and had alot of hard hits this season, and my Fukuyamas are still "outpunching the competition".

For long term storage, you should bring them down equalized to .9v per cell and un solder the battery bars.

On the Rayspeed tray, conditioning is just a 1 amp discharge to .9v per cell instead of 5 amp. You use this to bring the cells down a little more gradually. It makes each cells voltage bounce a little more equal.

On the shrink wrap, that's very interesting. Not what I heard but who knows? As far as I know, GP sends all matchers the same cells. Some matchers get private label shrink wrap but they are still the same cells. They even state on their website that they don't do cells for specific matchers.

Yeah, Jim is doing great these days. You can still email him at [email protected] and whenever he comes around to read it, he'll most definitely reply to you. I think he's planning to get hitched within this year.

maj teeth, what is the runtime numbers on those cells? I may want to pick up a couple if they are that cheap, but for mod sedan I gotta have decent runtime. Thanks, I'm very happy with my fukuyama packs!

racer-oZ - thanks for the support! Runtime varies with cells so I suggest you give speedtech a call or write them email and I'm sure they'll work with you. www.speedtechrc.com is their website.

Happy Racing!
