Where are the 414m2 boys?

try this http://195.92.181.110:8090/upload/axis_exploded.pdf
And then zoom until you get a good view of the battery straps. The straps can be mounted easily on the 414. Each strap half mounts with 1 screw ...similar to a servo mount. Boy that sounds complicated !!! alot of description for a 7.00$ part. Try em...they work great and don't weigh much at all.
I made a mistake on the first link...I just corrected it. Also, these particular hold downs were from the Axis chassis...not the SST

Most definitely. I first used them on an Atlas ym34. Then i used them on the 414. Assuming your electronics are average sized...you should have no problem on the forward side of the batteries and the rearward side is no problem at all. Obviously you want to countersink the screws. Thats the hardest thing to do. make sure you brush some ca glue around the screw hole after you drill them. BTW..I mounted mine just to the outside of the slots for the normal velcro or tape .

do you have a picture of this?
and how does it work it looks like some sort of clip system?

I drive a 414M and am also tired of using battery tape, what I did is I purchased a pair of X-ray bat holders, their almost a direct fit and all you need ti do is scrape a little off the chasis in the slot where you put the tape. I havent tried the car on track though, but I blve the fix I did will definitely solve your problems regarding battery tape.
By the way guys, do you now anyone who uses the ssg chasis for the 414M? I've seen them and they seem to be thicker than the original chasis, do you think the ssg would add too much weight to the 414M?
Jon.

My guess is that it was the ssg pieces from the TA04-TRF ssg put on a 414MII, is that possible? Does the TA04TRF ssg chassis come with a saddle setup because the 4141mII I saw was using saddles. I don't know jack about tamiya's, as is pretty obvious....

the ssg chsis used for the tao4trf and the 414M are different. I've seen them in one of the LHS here. In fact, the first to arrive here was the chasis for the tao4trf, when I saw it I thought about using it as replacement for my chasis, then discovered that they are not the same.

Just to clear out the confusion about SSG chassis for the 414M series cars.
Yes there is a complete SSG chassis for 414M/M2....
No, the SSG chassis is not thicker.
Howerver, the SSG chassis is narrower than the regular carbon chassis
It looks great.

Good to hear again from u 414 guys, my 414 is 1 year old now and is still very much competetive and didnt have to spend on parts, didnt broke anything yet.
Now that we are into stock racing, ny problem is on weight trimming, shops here dont sell the lightwt. bulkheads, How are those lite wt. bulkheads with those lot of holes do? are thwy race worthy? are they that lite? will it not be deformed easily?
Calvin: I use straps for wrist watches to strap my saddle pack, its kind of funny to look but it do serves the purpose, and it just weighs less than 20 gms.
And the evos? Not good in race survival, esp. for club racers, and it needs to win the WORLDS first!!!
