I am looking into getting a 10.5 brushless motor for offroad racing. From what I understand, there is an implied standard for rating motors and that the "turn" number equivalents map back loosely to brushed motor ratings depending on how the manufacturer decides to rate it. It sounds kind of arbitrary and seems like one manufacturer's 10.5 brushless could be significantly faster than another's.

Does anyone know if this is true? These motors are being endorsed by ROAR - some faster than others racing in the same class, correct?

If that is all true, does anyone know what is the fastest ROAR approved 10.5 brushless right now?

Novak? Speed Passion? Trinity? Orion? Losi? Hacker? LRP?
