Default 17.5 and 13.5 Gearing

I have a 17.5 and a 13.5, and i was wondering what i need to gear it at. I Run an Xray 007. So does anyone know what to gear those motors at?

Well taking all the variables out, Carpet, Foam, Rubber, motor brand, start around the following:

13.5 = 4.5 - 5.0 FDR
17.5 = 4.0 - 4.5 FDR

This is something you need to find out on your own as there really isn't a definitive answer. Even bl motors differ some from one to the next, and considering that no one knows the diameter or your tires or the track length you're running or your batteries it's impossible to say for sure.

But they are good starting points. Try to temp your motor @ 140º ±.

I can gear as low as 3.5 for the 17.5, I don't have a hammer throttle so my motor temps around 155-160 after 5.
