What's the part number everyone is recommending for the servo saver spring?
Are there any do's or don'ts that I should be aware of when building the car?
Any recommended on optional upgrades to smooth out the car?
I've run the Mugen, Serpent, and now want to try the TC3 this year.

I use the small hair bands, or sometimes called poneytail holders. The smallest size for kids some in all different colors. They are just like a rubberband but made of elastic. Just wrap it around the carb and slip one end over the ball end before attaching the linkages. Then if its not tight enough go to the other side of the carb and wrap it around the mixture valve,{brass valve once or twice to tighten itup. It's an old 1/8 scale off road trick I learned years ago for the slide carb.
For you guys that need lower gearing than 20/54, you could buy some kimbrough 32 pitch spurs and drill the center out to fit the hub and get some lower gearing, if theres enough engine adjustment. I raced a TC3 Trininty gas conversion you could get a 58 tooth spur in it so you should be able to get up to a 58 or 60 tooth spur in it . I have a bunch of spare spurs for the conversion so next time I have the NTC3 apart I'll do some checking.

I am one of the lucky ones who's home track is the Nat's track. 280 x 135 permanant facility. We start racing next sunday - weather permitting. Going tomorrow for 1st practice.
I have been racing for 13 years - 12th scale, Sedan, Oval, and off-road. (1) ROAR natl Champ title (Masters 12th Scale)- so I am not new to this. Gas however is new to me. Ran 1/8 scale summer of 2000 on borrowed car. Attended 2 Midwest seris races and did pretty good.
Just got my NTC3 and have entered the Nats.
I know the powerband of elec motors (also have TC3 elec).
Has anyone got experiance on gearing a NTC3 for a track this big. Iknow this is way bigger than norm (100 X50). I dont know the powerband of this OS TR. Do you just go for gear or what.
I have made myself some roll-out charts with all the possible gear ratios and most common tire sizes.
Any opinions

Looks like a fast layout that could use some taller gearing than stock. Let us know...

Motorman: Went to your website...how about hooking me up with a "super-tuned" MT-12 for the nats? Are you producing engines yet? Let me know, 'cause I was gonna by a JP Mod...

Nats Track Report - Wow what a day today. This car is fantastic. Got to the track at 10am ran till it started raining at 4. I put 15 tanks thru this beast - yea thats right 15 tanks. Never once broke anything or had any problems with the OS TR or the car.
After the 3rd tank I put in a new glow plug. Threw away the breakin plug after it had seen 10 tanks. With the new plug it really came alive, after couple more tanks started leaning her out. By the last three tanks I was about 1 1/4 turns out on the high needle and still blowing some smoke.
If you havent been there yet this track is huge, 285 x 135, tower is about 15ft off the ground. Perfect visibility feels, like your watching the car from above the track. Started my gearing at 50,54 x 23,27 ended up at 48,52 x 23,27 tallest gearing now available. From what i could tell it was great.
Last year 13 lap runs (5 min) were tops. With the 50,54 a buddy got me at 12 1/2 laps at he 5 min mark. I was in straightaway at the time so would have finished with a 13. When I changed gears later it was even better.
There is no traction additive on the asphalt yet. This club uses VHT each week starting next Sunday. This will make a major difference. Tires used were TRC purple rears and Plaid fronts. Great for the dry track but will probably need harder fronts next week with additive. Tires started at 2.320 dia and ended at 2.250 dia. 2.250 to 2.275 is where you should be. Ride height was 5.5mm rear and 6 mm frt. Could run lower. White fr Springs and Yellow rear.
Setting the 2 speed was a little tricky getting to come on in the right place but no problem. This track is so big you will be shifting in the short chutes about 4 to 5 times per lap.
Had so much fun we are going back tomorrow !!!!!!!!

Hey Kansas - wish you could be here I will keep you up to date as the season progresses. I know nothing about the effects of the 1 way or solid rear axle. All I can say is I couldnt use all the HP this car had thru the infield. I will be tring both when I get them, but honestly I cant see where they are necessary yet.
