Well that was certainly one thing that SV raceway had going for it, NOBODY lives near it and the surrounding industries make more noise than the cars.
It seems that any future permanent track needs to be located in an industrial type location far from residents.
That I can see as a perpetual issue unless the facility is owned by a fairly large and active club with a sizable membership.
It does seem like the greater LA/SF area has more than enough potential members to support such a facility if they could be brought together and a suitable location could be found. It seems like the Greater LA guys are still in search of a permanent home.

GLARCRC has been around for many many years, and part of the club's approach to racing is to do it in public areas to expose the hobby and bring more people into it. Having said that, a little known fact is that it was members of the GLARCRC that approached CP Hotel, picked the location that is now known as CP Raceway, signed a 3 race contract, brought in the trailer and boards, and got things going there. At that point in time, Revelation was closed, SVM did not exist, and the only racing in town was either Pro Car West's temp track in SF Springs or GLARCRC temp track at the Carson Mall. The next closest 1/8th nitro tracks were/are the RAMS in San Jose or the Vegas track.

I'm sorry if I insulted anyone that was not my intention at all!!! I am just frustrated at the fact that we are going to lose SV speedway in fact I would not mind racing on a PARKING LOT at all. But when you lose a real track like that that is open 7 days a week and has a bunch of really nice guys that is always ready to help it sucks !!!! plus I'm new to all this even being on these forums I don't even know who you guys are and where you race. Pls next time try to get to know me first before judging me. We don't need this kind of drama what we need is to help each other out to keep this hobby going and try to save these tracks doesn't matter if its a PARKING LOT OR A REAL OFFICIAL PURPOSE BUILT TRACK.

You know, I am sorry to see SVM close down. A lot of the guys who race at these "PARKING LOTS" tried to keep SVM open by racing there. There is a class at these "PARKING LOTS" for your cars and if you don't want to race at them don't. You won't be missed and you can spend your time doing something else other then racing your car with a great bunch of guys and having fun.
