20% byrons gen 2 in a c6bbT
will it be ok to run byrons 20% in this motor??? what do i need to do about shims, remove one??? or just leave it alone? thanks!

Do nothing!!! Break in the motor with Byrons and set your needles and go. Most motors are set up stock up to 25%. I run 25% Gen II and have a C6bb7t with no problems! Some will shim their heads .1 for 25% or more but for 20 leave it alone.

what is the real difference in running 20% or 30%? my local hobby shop is short on byron 30 gen 2 so I figured I would just start running 20

If you have been running 30 with no problems you could probably get by with pulling a .1 head shim for 20 but I would leave it alone and enjoy the slight mileage increase.

just do a proper break in, tune your engine and enjoy! Byrons is excellent fuel, and the C6 is an awesome motor. you have a great combo! riiipppp

Im running the 25% gen2 with 11% oil in my rb s7 l2g. I did break it in with 30% tq fuel and since running the byrons I did have to richen it up quite a bit. The warmest my engine got with the gen 2 was 245 but it was 90+ degrees that day with lots of humidity. I gonna stick with 25% gen 2 byrons for now on as long as it treats me good. Also rb engines are made to run no higher than 25% nitro with out re shimming, but I didnt re shim and it was fine

what rea difference am I going to notice running 20% over 30%....I know there is 10% nitro content difference but.......also I have a vspec I have been running on 30%...will I have to richen or lean it out switching to 20%

The difference between the Byrons 20 and 30% is just the nitro content. The higher the nitro, the greater the punch or increase in torque. I run 25% Byrons and swear by the stuff. It has the punch like 30 but with the ease in tuning and cooler running like 20. 25% has a higher oil content like 20%. 30% has a lower oil content.. 9% (I think) vs 11%. Plus, with 25% there is no real need to reshim or run a cooler plug.

ok thanks guys, so i started to break my c6 on 20% now if byrons keeps producing 25% i am going to switch to that, will this cause any trouble??

It's cheaper because it has less nitromethane in it and nitromethane is the most expensive ingredient in the fuel.
Most people would probably run quicker on 20%.

ok guys, got my c6 broke in, it is great.........but the stock setting are 3.5 on the top, and 5 out on the bottom..........i ended up llike couple hours lean on the top from stock and i am like 6 or 6.5 on the bottom out....could this be right, motor is running 227F, and running great.

If it's running right it is right.
Different pipes and different fuels can require radically different needle settings. I once had a new motor that with my pipe, fuel and weather conditions was several turns too lean with the factory settings.
